The Flintstones on iTunes

sitcoms on your iPod

Warner Bros and Apple have announced that programming from Warner Bros. television library is now available for purchase from the iTunes Music Store.

The new content includes the popular sitcom Friends, sci-fi epic Babylon 5, popular sketches from MADtv, as well as The Jetsons and The Flintstones.

Pay-per-download is proving to be very popular amongst world TV giants; we reported how earlier this year NBC and ABC started releasing the likes of Lost, Scrubs and Desperate Housewives through iTunes.

This move by Warner Bros will also further add to the already impressive iTunes video collection, as well as aid sales of video-emabled portable devices, such as Apple's Video iPod.

But will we be seeing British comedy greats such as Black Adder, or even the BBC's Blue Planet in iTunes any time soon?

Currently TV show downloads are limited to the iTunes US Store. Hopefully some time in the future all the British greats will be made available. Until then however, i'll make do with The Flintstones!
